NSW legislation now requires hosts to provide evacuation diagrams within their short-term rental accommodation.

These diagrams must comply with section 4.2.2 of the Fire Safety Standard and must be fixed in the correct locations at the main entry door to the property as well as in every bedroom. You must also have interconnected smoke alarms please refer to the fire safety standards.

Bespoke Emergency Information Booklet For STRA

STRA hosts in NSW are required by law to provide an emergency information booklet to visitors who are unfamiliar with the property and the surrounding region.

Guests will be equipped with the knowledge of what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency by identifying hazards specific to the property's location, giving pertinent information sources, and emergency contact details. In the absence of such a booklet, hosts are unable to advertise on booking sites such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and Stayz.

Portable fire extinguishers & fire blankets

SafeStay provides two choices to help keep your property fire-safe.

We can supply a full range of quality firefighting equipment and we will come to your STRA location and install your portable fire extinguisher directly on wall or in a cabinet (recomended) and fire blanket to ensure compliance with AS2444 and the STRA Fire Safety Standard.

Alternatively, for a reduced fee, we can ship Australian Standards approved fire extinguishers and fire blanket straight to you for installation.
